Can I choose a different ferry time?
The 09:10 ferry from Tanah Merah, available on Friday and Saturday, may work for some day-trip packages. However, the available time in Bintan will be shorter.
Before booking the 09:10 ferry, contact Bintan Voyage so the team can check:
- Your selected package
- The number and duration of activities
- Travel time between locations
- Your return ferry
- Whether the itinerary can be completed comfortably
The 11:10 ferry or any later departure should not be booked for a normal full-day package unless Bintan Voyage has confirmed a shorter or specially adjusted itinerary.
What should I check before purchasing the ferry?
Confirm these details before payment:
- The route is Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal.
- You have selected a return ticket from BBT to Tanah Merah.
- The departure and return times match your day-trip itinerary.
- Every passenger’s name matches the passport exactly.
- The ferry ticket is shown as separate or included in your written Bintan Voyage confirmation.
Do not purchase a ferry to Tanjung Pinang for a package that starts at BBT. The terminals are in different areas of Bintan, which would affect the pickup and the entire day-trip route.
How early should I arrive at the ferry terminal?
Bintan Resort Ferries advises passengers to check in 90 minutes before departure. The check-in counter closes 40 minutes before departure.
For the recommended 08:10 ferry, arrive at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal at approximately 06:40 Singapore time.
For the return journey, Bintan Voyage will plan the transfer back to BBT based on the ferry schedule you provide. Please do not change your return ferry without informing the team.
What should I send Bintan Voyage after booking the ferry?

What happens if the ferry schedule changes?
Send the ferry operator’s notice to Bintan Voyage as soon as you receive it.
If you purchased the ferry yourself, ticket amendments must normally be handled with Bintan Resort Ferries or the platform that issued the ticket. Bintan Voyage will then check whether the pickup and activities can be adjusted around the new schedule.
If Bintan Voyage added the ferry to your package, contact the team directly. The ferry and day-trip arrangements can then be reviewed together as one booking.
A ferry change does not automatically mean that the day-trip package is lost. The team will first check whether the itinerary can be adjusted, shortened or moved to another suitable sailing. Any ferry amendment remains subject to seat availability and the ferry operator’s conditions.

Can I buy my ferry ticket at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal on the day of travel?
Yes. Ferry tickets can be purchased at the Bintan Resort Ferries counter, but only if seats are still available. For a Bintan Voyage day trip, relying on a walk-in ticket is risky. If the morning ferry is sold out, the remaining departures may not provide enough time to complete your itinerary.
How late can I book the ferry online?
Online bookings can be made up to four hours before departure, subject to seat availability.
However, ferry seats are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Booking earlier is safer, particularly for weekends, public holidays and school-holiday periods.
Can I change my ferry date or departure time after booking?
A change of travel date, departure time or seat class may be permitted, depending on your ticket’s fare conditions and seat availability.
An amendment fee or fare difference may apply. If the new ticket costs less, the fare difference is generally not refunded.
Can I change or correct a passenger’s name after booking?
Bintan Resort Ferries treats a passenger-name change as a cancellation, not a normal amendment.
Enter every passenger’s full name exactly as shown in the passport before completing payment. A small spelling mistake can become a surprisingly expensive tribute to human carelessness.
What happens if I miss my booked ferry?
You will need to purchase a new ticket for the next available departure. The replacement seat is subject to availability.
A passenger who misses the check-in cutoff is treated as a no-show, and the unused ticket cannot normally be refunded, amended or reissued. Inform Bintan Voyage immediately because the later arrival may affect your pickup and available day-trip time.
How much checked baggage can I bring?
Economy Class passengers receive 20 kg of checked baggage allowance per person. Emerald Class passengers receive 30 kg per person.
Excess baggage may be charged by the terminal. Passports, money, medicine and other valuables should remain with you rather than being placed inside checked baggage.
Do children receive a different ferry fare?
BRF child fares apply to passengers aged 11 years or below on the day of departure.
The passenger’s correct date of birth and passport information must be entered when making the reservation.
Can I take an international flight from Changi Airport after returning from Bintan?
Yes, but do not arrange a tight connection.
Bintan Resort Ferries advises passengers to choose a return ferry that arrives in Singapore at least five hours before the international flight departs. This buffer accounts for ferry delays, immigration clearance, baggage collection and travel from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Changi Airport.
